Abstract submissions

Prior to submission, it is important to determine the suitability of your presentation for either an oral or poster format. Posters are generally better suited for ongoing work that has incomplete analyses or findings. Oral presentations, on the other hand, should include results. It is important to keep in mind that poster presentations have the potential to reach a larger audience than oral presentations, as they are displayed for all conference attendees to read during a single poster session. Conversely, only a fraction of conference delegates will attend any given oral session. Once your presentation type has been confirmed, please download the corresponding guidelines for either poster or oral presentations.

Submission Guidelines

Preparing an abstract for an oral presentation at an international conference can be daunting. However, it is a crucial component of the presentation that can either make or break the acceptance of your submission. Here are some guidelines that can help you prepare an effective abstract:

  1. Follow the guidelines: It is important to read carefully and follow the guidelines provided by the conference organizers. This will ensure that your abstract meets the required format, length, and content.
  2. Start with a clear and concise statement: Your abstract should begin with a clear and concise statement of your research question or problem, followed by a brief summary of your methodology and key findings.
  3. Focus on the significance and novelty of your research: Your abstract should emphasize the significance and novelty of your research, highlighting why your study is important and how it contributes to the field.
  4. Avoid jargon: Avoid using technical jargon and acronyms that are specific to your field. Instead, use simple, clear language that a wider audience can easily understand.
  5. Be specific and concise: Your abstract should be specific and concise, providing enough information to give the reader a clear understanding of your research but avoiding unnecessary details.
  6. Emphasize the practical implications of your research: Your abstract should also emphasize the practical implications of your research, highlighting how your findings can be applied to real-world problems and solutions.
  7. Proofread and edit: Finally, proofread and edit your abstract thoroughly, ensuring that it is free of grammatical and typographical errors.

By following these guidelines, you can prepare an effective abstract for your oral presentation at an international conference, which will increase the chances of your submission being accepted and appreciated by the audience.
